CMM Operator/Quality Inspector

seeking a Quality Control Bench Inspector for a client in Portland, Connecticut, serving the aerospace industry. Pay Range is $24-29/hr
This position maintains quality standards by inspecting incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products. The inspector will verify compliance with engineering specifications, perform dimensional inspections, and accurately document inspection results.
Key Responsibilities

Inspect in-process and finished products through visual examinations and dimensional measurements to confirm compliance with specifications.
Review purchase orders, operation sheets, blueprints, special process certifications, and other specifications to verify that parts and materials meet requirements.
Perform complex dimensional layout inspections using operation sheets and engineering drawings.
Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to evaluate part conformity.
Complete Inspection Method Sheets and maintain accurate inspection records.
Verify special process certifications against applicable part specifications.
Perform first-piece inspections and First Article Inspections (FAIs).
Identify and document nonconforming materials or components and communicate findings to the appropriate personnel.
Collaborate with production and quality teams to address inspection issues and maintain product quality.

Required Qualifications

2–8 years of inspection experience in aerospace or a similar manufacturing industry.
Strong working knowledge of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and dimensional inspection.
Ability to interpret operation sheets, purchase orders, specifications, and special process certifications.
Experience using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional requirements.
Strong analytical skills, shop math proficiency, and attention to detail.
Ability to evaluate manufacturing methods and procedures for compliance with quality requirements.
Solid verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Ability to maintain complete and accurate inspection documentation.
